We Are One Body Campaign

Dear Parish Family,

Forty years ago, Nativity’s “150 Forward” Capital Campaign identified the need for an elevator and additional restrooms. More recently, our VISION 2020 conversations named accessibility as a core value of our parish. It is time to make that vision a reality. It is in hopeful expectation that I invite you to make a substantial gift to your church family.

We all come to Nativity seeking a deeper relationship with God and with one another. We come here for worship and for fellowship, for comfort and for strength. “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28) Your generous financial support will make it possible for people of all ages and abilities to find that rest here at the Church of the Nativity. When all the members of this body are able to be together, we will be made whole; we will be ONE BODY.

In our Baptismal Covenant we are asked, “Will you…respect the dignity of every human being?” And our answer is, “Yes!” We boldly proclaim, “I will with God’s help.” Right now, your church needs your help so that we can live into that promise.  Accessibility is at the heart of respecting a person’s dignity. I ask that you make a prayer-full, joy-full, and sacrificial gift to the ONE BODY campaign. In doing so, you will be offering a great gift to all those who seek to worship and serve our Lord on this corner of God’s Kingdom.

God’s Peace,

The Rev. T. Michael Goldsmith

A prayer for this project

Lord God, we give you thanks for The Church of the Nativity. We are grateful for the joy, strength, and comfort we receive and share here. Fill our hearts with love for all who enter into this place as we strive to respect the dignity of every person. Enliven us to give generously so that our buildings may be accessible to all who seek and serve you here. Sustain this One Body with the courage to fulfill your vision for your church; in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
