Children will rotate to a different workshop each Sunday during a five-week unit. The workshops include: Theology Theatre, Thou Art, Bible Improv, The Parable Place, and Church Mouse (computer). Classes are designed into creative, multimedia-inspired, kid-pleasing workshops that teach Bible stories. Classes rotate from workshop to workshop for a five-week period. The teachers do not rotate. During that five-week period only one Bible story is taught. The entire five-week rotation is focused on learning that one Bible story. This program works because it's practical for teachers and fun for kids. It emphasizes the learning environment. We all learn from and react to our surroundings. Feelings about the teacher, the room, and the lesson become linked to the child's feelings about God, the church, and the Bible.

The WoRM, for children in kindergarten through fifth grade, uses some of the curriculum from Godly Play, an open-access approach that works through the community of children to give them the tools to identify, name, and value their religious experience. Children age three and four years old, as well as the 6th grade Bible study, will exclusively use Godly Play. Perhaps, this should be named "spiritual direction," but whatever you call it, the result is great and deep fun.
